Sustainability and innovation: Poplast Group at the NOVAPACK conference
On September 18th, we’ll be joining AndreaGhu (CCO) as speakers at the “Sustainable and Functional Packaging: the NOVAPACK project between Research and Industry” conference at the University of Parma.
NOVAPACK is a research project funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research under the PNRR program, using European Union NextGeneration EU funds. The goal is to develop innovative biopolymer systems containing functional antimicrobial and antioxidant extracts derived from lactic acid fermentation of agricultural waste, for disposable food and biomedical packaging applications following circular economy principles.
The NOVAPACK project captures exactly where the packaging industry is heading: developing innovative films for disposable food and biomedical packaging applications.
We’re working at the cutting edge of applied research, and our expertise in polymer processing allows us to play a real part in turning these research findings into scalable industrial solutions.
The circular economy isn’t just a concept anymore—it’s tomorrow’s production reality. The systems emerging from this PNRR project offer concrete opportunities to cut environmental impact without compromising functionality or safety.
The collaboration between universities (Polytechnic of Turin as coordinator, University of Parma and Bologna) and companies like Poplast Group is crucial for speeding up the journey from research to market.
